An Accommodation Review is a process undertaken by a school board to determine the future of a school or group of schools. The Limestone District School Board process is defined in Board Policy 15: Pupil Accommodation Review, Administrative Procedure 120: Pupil Accommodation Review and Ministry of Education Pupil Accommodation Review Guide 2015 .

The process is initiated by an Initial Staff Report and approval by the Board of Trustees to conduct a Pupil Accommodation Review.

An approved Pupil Accommodation Review will include:

  • The establishment of a Pupil Accommodation Committee (PARC) that holds:
    • Four working committee meetings;
    • Two PARC public meetings;
    • One or more meetings with the affected municipality and community partners;
  • The presentation of the Final Staff Report to the School Enrolment/School Capacity Committee of the Whole Board (SE/SCC). The Report includes the feedback from the PARC, the public and the affected municipality and community partners;
  • A School Enrolment/School Capacity Committee of the Whole Board (SE/SCC) meeting to hear delegations;
  • A SE/SCC recommended decision, with regard to the accommodation review, to be forwarded to the next Board meeting;
  • Board decision regarding the accommodation review;
  • Communication of the decision; and
  • The establishment of an Integration Committee, if appropriate.
